May
May has been a joyful month! Rachel had her last day at her preschool this month. It was splash day and she had so much fun with all her little friends. I didn't get any pictures unfortunately.
We have been busy doing home improvements this month. It is interesting how one home improvement leads to many many more!
There is a baby boom at church; several ladies at church who have either just had a baby or had a baby in the last few months, or are newly pregnant, or "fixin'" to have a baby any time. I would like to share a couple of pictures of our good friends Aaron and Robyn who were just blessed with their second son. He is a keeper and I think big brother Evan will be quite happy having a little brother. Babies are such wonderful miracles!!
I have not had the time to do my usual gardening this year. I love digging in the dirt and growing plants from seeds. This year got away from me and so I did not get my tomato/pepper and herb seeds sown in January as I usually do. I can't bring myself to buy someone else's plants so we are without veggies of our own this summer. I know I know, technically tomatoes and peppers are fruits.;)
Some updates about Rachel:
She continues to absolutely LOVE swimming. She will be a good swimmer soon.
I continue to be amazed at Rachel's sweet personality. She loves hugs and kisses! Bryan has taught her to say that "Jesus is in my heart". I've taught her to say "praise the Lord!" and "God is good all the time".
We pray that she will always love God and His Word and that she will follow and trust in the Lord with all her heart; and that she will not lean on her own understanding; but in all her ways acknowledge Him; so that He will make all her paths straight. I also pray that she will not be wise in her own eyes but will fear the Lord and shun evil. God promises that this will bring health to her body and nourishment to her bones (Proverbs 3:5-8).
I lived the first 33 or so years of my life without knowing Jesus as my Savior and I was on the road to disaster. My very biggest hope is that Rachel will not enter through the wide gate that is the road that leads to destruction, but that she will enter through the narrow gate on the narrow road that leads to life (Matthew 7:13).
Rachel still loves "Clifford, the Big Red Dog" and has decided that Snow White is her favorite princess. Her favorite color is red. She is still much taller than her friends who are her age. Rachel talks a lot. I have discovered that she has no "off" button.:) Only when we are around other people will she suddenly become very quiet. I think she is quite shy actually.
Rachel has become a big helper to me. She helps me unload the dishwasher. She is in charge of all her plastic bowls and sippy cups. She also helps me put clean laundry away! It is so cute to see her put her socks and panties away. On Memorial day, we decided to wash our vehicles. Rachel decided to give her Daddy a hand. Oh....and I'm so proud that she has finally learned how to pedal on her trike rather than pushing along with her feet.
I am a seriously blessed woman. Why God would bless me with such a wonderful husband and daughter is beyond my comprehension.
Enjoy the pictures! Love, Michelle |
